SMSF Compliance, Audit and Annual Reporting

Running your own fund puts the compliance obligation on you as trustee. We prepare the financials, coordinate the independent audit and lodge the annual return — and, along the way, tell you where the fund stands on contributions, pensions and investment rules while there is still time to act.

Common questions

Can you audit the fund yourselves?

No — the audit must be independent. We prepare the fund's accounts and engage an approved SMSF auditor on your behalf, which keeps the independence requirement intact.

What if the fund has already breached a rule?

We will tell you plainly, explain what the ATO expects, and work through the rectification or voluntary disclosure with you. Early action almost always improves the outcome.

Do you give financial product advice?

We advise on tax and compliance. Where a question is genuinely one of investment or insurance advice, we say so and refer you to a licensed adviser.

When should we start?

Before 30 June, if you can — contributions, pensions and asset decisions are far easier to get right in advance than to explain afterwards.
